ILLEGAL DUMPING IN BRAMPTON
MUST BE CONTROLLED
Residents of Wards 2 & 6
In the early part of September 2007, I drove around Wards 2 & 6 to look at the progress of the new construction and new facilities. The Casey Campbell Recreation Centre well on its way, the development of playgrounds and park space, the rehabilitation of natural habits along the Fletchers Creek water systems and the addition of many new homes.
The infrastructure finally is showing some improvements, although the traffic congestion is still an issue. I believe the growth of our Wards has been positive.
However, having saying this, I am very concerned with the amount of illegal dumping of garbage, yard and land waste in the undeveloped areas of our City.
The City of Brampton in conjunction with the Region of Peel has the most comprehensive waste and recycling programs in the Greater Toronto Area, perhaps in the Country. With these programs in place there is no need for this illegal dumping and measures must be taken to control it.

As the Chairperson of the Brampton Clean City Committee, I can assure you that the City of Brampton and its staff are doing their outmost to help keep our City a clean and safe place to live.
We as residents need to stand up, take pride in our Community, help prevent and hopefully put an end to these illegal activities.
The pictures I have included are only a few from Wards 2&6; this problem exists throughout the City of Brampton.

I have been proud to call Brampton my home for forty seven years. I will continue to make it my home and do my part to keep it a clean and safe City.
Let’s all pitch in and do our part to keep the City of Brampton a flourishing Community and a leader in environmental awareness.
In the coming months look around your neighborhood and see what you can do to lend a hand.
Sincerely
Doug Whillans,
Resident of Wards 2 & 6
